We all want our mothers to feel loved and appreciated on Mother’s Day, buuuut let’s be honest – unless you find a creative alternative, this may be the third year in a row you give your mom perfume.

Thankfully, there are a few unique, practical and meaningful gifts you can create yourself – and, they won’t break the piggy bank!

1.       Homemade Flower Vase

Flowers are a great go-to gift for Mother’s Day, but let’s take it up a notch this year with a handmade vase! You can transform any Mason jar into a pretty vase by painting it before adding the stems. Here’s how to do it.

2.       DIY Gift Basket

Put a Mother’s Day twist on a fruit basket and customize a spa package for her. First, pick a cute basket from the dollar store. Then, place tissue paper in the bottom of the basket and then fill it up with little accessories, like face masks, scented lotion, body scrubs, etc. Next time she decides to treat herself, she’ll have everything she needs for her own personal spa day without ever leaving her house.

3.       Mini Appreciation Book

Who doesn’t love a little verbal TLC? Have the kiddos write down ten things they love about their mama and make a little book out of them. You can use fun craft or pattern paper that brings back the memories. )For example, if she loves to cook, use old recipes as paper.) Interested in making your own? Here’s a helpful guide.
