1.       Make A List

When you look at your pantry and see bare shelves, you think you don’t have anyyyything to make (which may be true). Before you go to the store, make a list of essential foods you’ll need for the week and stick to it. It’s surprising how much money is wasted on buying unnecessary food. If you can, leave the little ones and their cute faces asking for cookies at home.

2.       Buy in Bulk

You know the saying, less is more? Not when it comes to groceries! Sometimes, buying in bulk can save you a good amount of money. Only buy things that you know you’ll definitely use like toilet paper or shampoo – and avoid that big container of strawberries that you can’t eat fast enough.

3.       Coupons, coupons, coupons

Those little booklets at the front of the supermarket are not to be ignored. Don’t forget to grab one before you start looking around for some great hidden savings – it’s also a great way to jog your memory, especially if you forgot something you needed. And you can thank us later when you find out dish detergent is buy one get one free.

4.       Don’t Go Shopping When Hungry

It’s soooo hard to stop yourself from putting every snack pack and cookie box in your cart when you go to the supermarket on an empty stomach. Do your best to eat before you go, so you only buy necessary food items, rather than snacks to feed your cravings.
