Often the centerpiece of your living room, a great television can be a gathering spot for friends and family, a comfy lounging station for sick days or lazy Sundays, or a personal movie theater complete with popcorn and cozy blankets. But how do you know which TV is best for each of these scenarios? The best TV for your space depends on how big your room is, how many people watch it, and what sort of programming you watch the most. Overwhelmed? Don’t be. We’ve got all the information you need to have the perfect viewing experience, no matter how you use it!

Size

At Aaron’s, you can find a great selection of sizes and brands ready to be your next TV. When deciding what size will work for you, consider the size of the room and how far away you’ll be sitting. Also consider how many people will watch at once – a large family may have a hard time gathering around a too-small TV. Here is a general guide to what size TV works best in differently sized rooms:

43″ – 50″
These TVs are perfect for average-sized living rooms and bedrooms.

55″ – 65″
These larger TVs work well in larger living rooms, or if you often have a group joining you.

75″+
These TVs work best in media rooms or anywhere you are looking for a fully immersive experience, as well as large groups (hello, movie nights and football parties!).

Type

With so many technical terms floating around these days, it’s not hard to be confused by what they all mean. Most TVs these days have LED screens, which give you a bright display and vibrant color. UHD, or Ultra High Definition, TVs (4k) have 4x the pixels of a regular TV. This equals enhanced sharpness and defined details, making movies and sports look high-quality and immersive. HDR, or High Dynamic Range, gives you impeccable color as well, with blacker blacks and more exact color selection.

Finally, a term you’ve likely heard pretty often due to the immense popularity of streaming services, are Smart TVs. These TVs often come with streaming apps built-in, so all you have to do is turn it on, connect your Wi-Fi, sign-in to your streaming account, and watch.
