When you think of laundry day, you may roll your eyes, groan, or try to find a way to stretch that same shirt just a little longer. We get it. Laundry isn’t exactly fun, but there are ways you can make it simpler and faster – and get back to the things you actually enjoy doing! The right equipment plays a huge factor in how successful your laundry day is, and Samsung’s got your back with high-quality machines to take your laundry sesh from draining to delightful!

Do You Have the Right W/D Combo?

Before you can enjoy that clean linen smell, you’ve got to make sure you have what you need. If you’re in the market for a washer and dryer, it makes sense to buy your machines in a set. You may save a dime or two buying them separately from message boards or friends-of-friends, but that’s a great way to end up with mismatched machines and uneven drying or washing. And what’s the point of having a dryer if you have to hang your clothes up after?

The most important factor when deciding what machines to get is the size – make sure you know how much room you have before purchasing! Washers and dryers can range from compact to high capacity, so you’ll need to be armed with the measurements of the room or space the machines are going in before you purchase. Once you know the correct size, you’ll need to decide whether you want front- or top-loading machines. If you have stackable machines, this is decided for you. However, if you’re interested in a side-by-side, here are your choices:

Front-Loading:

·      More efficient

·      Can clean better

·      More expensive

·      Typically packed with features and settings

Top-Loading:

·      Great value

·      Stainless steel tubs are common

·      High spin speeds mean your clothes dry faster

·      Easier to use, as the lids open vertically and don’t require bending

Whichever type you choose, if you’re not familiar with basic laundry steps (and maybe a few secret hacks), you’re likely going to have some issues. Don’t worry, we’re here to help.

Laundry Day 101

Start by sorting darks from lights (and watch out for those reds!). Anything heavily soiled should be washed separately. Pick your detergent based on allergy needs or your washing machine (high-efficiency washers need a specific type of detergent), and select the water temperature and cycle. For heavily soiled clothing or to sanitize, hot water is suggested. Be careful – heat can shrink clothes (this goes for the dryer, too – when it doubt, leave it out!). All the rest of your clothes can typically be washed in cold water. Many Samsung machines offer up to 5 temperature levels to make sure your clothing and linens are thoroughly cleaned every time, without damaging the fabric. Similarly, with multiple preset washing cycles (it goes beyond normal, heavy-duty, and delicate!) you’ll get a great wash every time with just the touch of a button.

Proper Folding – Yes, Including Fitted Sheets

Some people love it, some people hate it, but it usually comes after you get your newly fluffed and fresh-smelling clothes and linens from the dryer. Yep, folding. Seen by some as a relaxing activity, it can be difficult to know how to fold certain items. Here are a few usual suspects when it comes to improper or inefficient folding:

Button-down shirts

Fitted sheets

Jackets and other outerwear

Dresses and skirts

It’s important to make sure your clothes are fully dry before folding, however. Trapped moisture can grow mold and smell musty. Don’t leave your clothes sitting in the washer once the cycle finishes (and remember to start the dryer!) and run an express dry if your dryer didn’t quite get the job done. Samsung’s electric dryers steam away wrinkles, odors, bacteria and static. The 4-way venting and 10 preset dry cycles coupled with the Sensor Dry technology work together to dry your clothes at the optimal temperature and setting all while working energy efficiently.

With high-quality equipment and a few how-to’s by your side, laundry day will become a breeze. Do laundry more often to keep it from building up, and know when it’s time to upgrade your current unit for a newer model. Happy laundry day!
